How do you price a move, and is the estimate accurate?
We price most local moves by crew size and hours, and long-distance moves by weight and distance, after Brenda or Colton walks through your inventory with you. We'd rather ask a few extra questions upfront than surprise you with a different number on moving day.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. West Texas Master Movers carries the required Texas household goods carrier authority for in-state moves and federal authority on file for interstate hauls, along with cargo and liability insurance. We can point you to our credentials if you'd like to see them before booking.
Do you only move within Midland, or do you cover other towns too?
Midland is home base, but our trucks regularly run to Odessa, Big Spring, Andrews, Stanton, Greenwood, and other towns across the Permian Basin. If your address isn't in that list, call the office — we can usually still work it in.
How does a long-distance move to somewhere like Dallas or Austin actually work?
One of our crews loads your household in Midland, drives it directly to the destination, and unloads it — no handoff to another carrier along the way. We give you a firm pickup and delivery window and stay in touch with dispatch through the whole route.
Do you offer packing services, or do we need to pack everything ourselves?
Both options are on the table. Our full-service packing crew can wrap and box an entire household in a day or two, or we can pack just the fragile and high-value items while you handle the rest. Either way, we bring our own materials.
What if we need short-term storage between move-out and move-in?
We offer short-term storage for households caught in a gap between closing dates or lease turnovers. Your belongings stay in the same trusted hands from pickup through final delivery instead of getting shuffled to a separate facility.
Can you move a piano or a gun safe?
Yes, both are specialty jobs we handle regularly. Pianos and safes need proper rigging, dollies, and manpower to move without damaging the item, your floors, or your walls, and our crews are equipped and experienced for both.
How far in advance should we book?
For local moves, one to two weeks' notice usually gets you the date and time you want. Long-distance moves and busy-season dates (end of month, summer) go faster, so two to three weeks ahead is safer if your schedule allows it.
What actually happens on moving day?
Your crew arrives within the scheduled window, does a quick walkthrough with you, then wraps furniture and loads the truck in the order that keeps your items protected. At delivery, they unload into the rooms you specify and reassemble any furniture we disassembled.
Is furniture disassembly and reassembly included?
Basic disassembly and reassembly of beds, tables, and similar furniture is included with our moving crews at no extra line item — it's part of getting your items through doorways safely and set back up at the new place.
What's your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Plans change, especially with oilfield schedules — just call the office as soon as you know. We ask for as much notice as possible so we can offer your slot to another customer, but we work with you rather than penalizing you for a shift in dates.
We're relocating to Midland for an oilfield job with a tight start date — can you accommodate that?
We handle this kind of move often. Tell Colton your report date when you call, and we'll build the pickup and delivery schedule backward from it, including coordination around lease start dates or temporary housing if your permanent place isn't ready yet.
Do you move businesses and offices, or just households?
Our main focus is residential moving, but we do take on smaller office relocations within Midland and the surrounding towns. Call the office to discuss scope and timing if you're moving a business.
How do we get an exact quote for our move?
The fastest way is our online quote form, which takes about two minutes and gets a callback from our office same-day in most cases. You can also call directly and Brenda or Colton will get the details over the phone.
